Newton Symphony Orchestra
May 23, 2005

Dear Jinny:

On behalf of the Newton Symphony Orchestra and its Board of Directors, I am writing to thank you most heartily for the sparkling and moving performance you gave, for the NSO's benefit, at our Cabaret evening, on Saturday, April 30, 2005.

Your voice is gorgeous, lyrical and expressive. Your natural warmth and engaging personality illuminated and caressed each song, enriching the music and lyrics and heightening the emotional content. The haunting melodies of the South African songs of apartheid and the "City" song that referenced our war-torn world were performed with solemn eloquence and haunting sadness. Other songs of a lighter nature were sung with verve and a light-hearted smile. And let me add that your piano accompanist, Doug Hammer, and percussionist Bertram Lehmann, were outstanding enrichments to the evening's music, as were your friends and guest performers, Will McMillan and Annie Sharkey. Always, your heart and inner spirit led the way to a beautiful performance. We all were smiling, from ear to ear! It was a marvelous evening, and I hope we have the pleasure and honor of your performance with and for the Newton Symphony Orchestra soon again.

Thank you, once again, for your generosity and graciousness in performing this cabaret evening to benefit the Newton Symphony Orchestra. We are very grateful!

Sincerely,

Constance G. Kantar
